Overview:

 

 

This is an advanced course as it will introduce a number of concepts and terms to the audience. The introduction provides a quick review of the Difference In Conditions and Difference in Limits Coverage outlined in a prior course. It is for the student who has background in international or the student who has taken the Basic and the Intermediate International Courses.

The Globally Coordinated Master Insurance Program® [GCMIP] is a concept where the client and insurance broker are able to build a worldwide insurance program that integrates several lines of business and policies throughout various countries where the client has exposure.

It outlines how to build a GCMIP for a middle market emerging international or existing multinational company. It takes the audience through a quick review of terms and then outlines the benefits of a GCMIP.


Target Audience  

Insurance Agents, Insurance Brokers, Insurance Associations, Business Associations, Underwriters, Claims Personnel, Loss Control Personnel, and Students studying Insurance.


Scope of Course:

Uses a mid-tier middle market company to illustrate the issues involved in issues involved in going global.

Discusses the advantages and disadvantages of locally placed policies outside the United States.

Illustrates how to integrate the Difference in Conditions / Difference in Limits International Policy with locally issued policies in country.

Outlines various issues and shortcomings with non-U.S. forms and tariff jurisdictions

Defines a GCMIP and illustrates how the GCMIP is a better alternative.

Discusses various ‘unique’ coverages found outside the U.S. market

Wraps all the issues together and illustrates the global program structure and pricing.


Metrics:

Relies on claims examples as its teaching method to illustrate various coverage points

 

Takes the audience through the various coverages available in a GCMIP program

 

Illustrates various types of GCMIP programs

Discusses capabilities needed by the producer, insurer and customer that facilitates a GCMIP program – No Insurer names are discussed.
